FAQ

  • Applications must be made in writing, in English or Nepali, on the Application Form online or on a printout of the Application Form online.
  • All Application Forms must be accompanied by the required supporting documents; applications can't be considered until all relevant documents are submitted.
  • Details of required documents are in the Application Form online.
  • Complete applications should be emailed to: IRRCT@ictc.com.np or handed over in print forms on prescribed formats to IRRT office in Hattisar.
  • Beneficiary eligibility (listed below)
  • The Trustees will consider projects of varying amounts and durations. Projects will not be supported for longer than 1 year.
  • IRRT in its sole discretion may sometimes consider a longer period or a repeat grant.

Sequential order of priority for beneficiaries for availing assistance from IRRT.

  • The poorest of the poor, the weakest of the weak, etc. the most underprivileged of the underprivileged
  • The physically and mentally challenged (Disabled)
  • The old aged destitute (above 80 years of age)
  • Orphans
  • The underprivileged girl child
  • Scheduled castes, backward classes such as Dalits who are very poor
  • Victims of domestic abuse and violence especially women and children
  • Victims of terminal illness who cannot afford the most basic healthcare
Note: the Higher listed sectors/beneficiaries will have PRIORITY over lower listed sectors and beneficiaries

The following persons and/or organizations will not be eligible for assistance from IRRT:

  • Criminals such as persons and/or organizations convicted of crimes such as murder, sexual offences, theft, corruption, financial fraud, etc.
  • Terrorist organizations and terrorists (Government Declared).
  • Political Parties, Politicians.
  • Persons or organizations which use undue pressure of any sort to force IRRT to fund any person or organizations.
  • Persons or organizations who have in the past abused IRRT funds or did not submit acceptable certified accounts of IRRT gifted funds.
  • Persons or organizations who did not meet eligibility requirements to secure IRRT funds in the past.
  • Persons or organizations who have abused funds from other national or foreign philanthropic/charitable organizations.
  • Persons and organizations prohibited by the Nepal Government to receive charity assistance.
  • Rich and privileged persons and organizations who do not need assistance from IRRT and other similar charitable organizations.
  • Persons or organizations who have filed any legal actions against IRRT or the trustees or against the guest trustees or against the companies in which the trustees and guest trustees hold considerable shares.
  • Persons or organizations who are hostile or unfriendly to, and do not mean or wish well of the trustees and guest trustees and their businesses.
  • Luxury and extravagant projects.
NOTE: The decision of the IRRT Board about any eligibility or non-eligibility of any IRRT assistance will be final.

There are no deadlines for applications.

The Trustees meet regularly to review and approve applications but you don't need to time your application to coincide with these meetings.

We aim to acknowledge every application within a month of receipt.

If your proposal doesn't meet IRRT’s funding criteria we'll write and tell you.

All eligible applications will be assessed and we may contact you for more details about your project.

The Trustees will review your application at the first available meeting. We will keep you updated on the status of your application within four weeks of the meeting at which it was considered.

  • If IRRT is unable to support your application due to lack of funds, you can apply again at any time.
  • If you've had an application refused because it doesn't fit the IRRT’s criteria, please don't re-submit the application again.
  • If you've had an application refused for one project, you can apply for funding for another project at any time.
  • If your project has received funding in the past, you can apply for further funds after 12 months have elapsed from the start of your previous funding but your proposal may not be considered a priority if the Trustees have received other appropriate proposals for different initiatives.
  • You can apply to IRRT to extend a current grant by making the request in writing at least six months before the funding is due to end.
  • Please also read the non-eligibility section.

If your application for funding is successful, you'll be asked to complete a progress report for each year of the grant to up-date the Trustees on the development of the project. For multi-year projects, you'll be asked for six-monthly updates. Details of the reporting schedule will be made clear when the grant is made.
